Afrika beat the 100s 60-57 by owning the part of the game Newport could not fake: the glass.
The Afrikaans won the official rebound count 39-23 and flipped the night with a 24-5 third quarter. Stephen Curry led Afrika with 14 points and four assists, while Mitchell Robinson grabbed 11 rebounds.
Newport’s stars supplied the frustration. Luka Doncic scored five points on 2-for-13 shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns attempted one shot. Dennis Rodman finished with zero rebounds.
Jose Alvarado still produced six assists, three steals and a plus-7, but the pressure work was wasted because Newport never found enough offense or rebounding to finish the series.
The 100s still led 3-2. The easy ending was gone.
