Newport beat Afrika 77-49, held the Afrikaans to exactly 10 points in each of the first three quarters and turned the series into a 3-1 advantage.
The 100s’ rotations arrived early, help came from the correct side and Afrika spent most of the night trying to begin possessions instead of finish them.
Newport forced 17 team turnovers, converted them into 21 points and won the steal count 13-4 while committing only five turnovers.
Luka Doncic supplied the clean headline with 22 points, six assists and no turnovers. Jose Alvarado supplied the recurring one: 10 points, six assists, three steals and another disruptive shift. Walker Kessler collected seven offensive rebounds, and Dennis Rodman added two steals and a block.
Afrika finally scored 19 in the fourth quarter. By then the lesson had already been administered.
